TENTATIVE ITINERARY

When: 24 May 2019-5 June 2019  

Program highlights/ Itinerary:
This interdisciplinary course is an academic/cultural opportunity designed to explore the contemporary “way of life” of a modern West African society. This is a 10 to 14-day experiential sojourn that will introduce participants to the “real Africa.” The course will address topics in public health, education, sociology, public policy, and government. Students from varying disciplines and community-based professionals will have the opportunity to think critically about both the commonalities and the differences between their lives in the United States in comparison to what they will see in Ghana. Program members will be required to observe and/or participate in cultural, academic and service-learning activities.

Requirements: Yellow Fever Vaccination (required), Anti-Malaria Medication (strongly recommended)

Housing: Coconut Grove Regency Hotel

Meals: For most days two meals are provided.

Payment Instructions: Payments are to be made online through the program website. You may start your payments immediately upon acceptance on this program. There are no exceptions for late payments and failure to make a payment by the deadline will result in forfeiting your seat on the program.
 
This program is offered during May Intersession. For students seeking to use summer financial aid, please be aware that the funds will not be dispersed until approximately 10 days prior to the start of Summer I, and will not be available at your payment deadlines. Summer financial aid may have additional requirements, please see Financial Aid's website for more details.
