This intensive Spanish language program takes students to la ciudad del español, Salamanca, Spain. Salamanca is a city rich in history, famous for its nearly 800 year old university and the famous people who have studied there.
Students will take classes in the morning and then participate in cultural activities in the afternoon, such as museum visits, and cooking and flamenco lessons. Weekend excursions to Andalusia and Madrid/Toledo may also be included.
This program includes a group flight in which all students will fly to Spain together.
Students enroll in a Spanish language class based on their level of proficiency. Elementary to advanced levels are offered. Students can receive up to 6 credit hours (3 KSU credits/3 transfer credits).
The program runs June 7 (program departs for Spain) - July 6, 2019.
This program is open to students with Spanish from beginner to intermediate (anyone who has not taken Intermediate Spanish 2 or higher).
Minimum 2.5 GPA.
Students stay with a host family who will provide 3 meals per day (unless you are traveling). Students will have at least one roommate with them who is also a Kent State student.
COSTS & TUITION
The estimated cost of this program is $6,200 for in-state KSU tuition; $7,275 for out-of-state KSU tuition (non-tuition guarantee cohort rates). Finalized costs will be given later in the semester. This fee includes: tuition, room & board, flight, cultural activities, some field trips, and international health insurance.
