Location(s): Florence, Italy

Course Description: Supervised professional experience in the hospitality industry including operations such as restaurants, hotels, clubs, health care, theme parks and food distribution. Course assignments are included. Repeatable for a total of 6 credits.

Prerequisite: HM 33050 and junior or senior standing and special approval.

Brief description of the program: Students will be gaining experience in the field in various hospitality properties including hotels and restaurants in Florence, Italy.

Course Description: SPAD 25092:  A 105-hour (per credit) field experience in a sport management setting.

Prerequisite: special approval from instructor.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
Students will be gaining experience in-the-field in hospitality and sport management in Florence, Italy.  They will complete the assignments associated with the practicum/internship class.

Pre-requisites: Instructor approval

Maximum capacity, if applicable: 8 Hospitality Management students; 4 Sport Administration students


ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS
Housing will be arranged with the assistance of staff in the KSU-Florence Center.  Students will be expected to pay out of pocket for meals, once in Florence.

Tuition:
In- or out-of-state summer tuition for 1-3 credits depending on the student’s residency status (see www.kent.edu/tuition for more information)

Program fees: $3,000

Flight: $1,500

Estimated personal expenses: This would depend on the student’s travel plans and decisions regarding cooking vs. eating out.

Total Estimated Cost: $4,500 (excluding tuition and personal expenses)
