OVERVIEW
The Shimane University Summer School program is housed at Shimane University, located on the western side of Japan in the beautiful coastal city of Shimane. Since Shimane University is a mid-sized university with 6000 students and 765 teaching staff, students have the opportunity to learn in a warm and friendly environment more typically associated with smaller colleges. Professors provide kind support and guidance to all students, and are readily available to foster enduring professional relationships through seminars, laboratory work and field work. The Summer School program aims at providing intensive lectures for beginners on Japanese language, Japanese culture and various other topics relating to national and regional history and society. During the 2 weeks, students will participate in lectures about Japanese culture and history, from the ancient time to the modern day. In addition, there are many cultural experiences included in the program. Students will have the opportunity to visit important landmarks and world heritage sites of Japan.
