OVERVIEW

This program is a direct enroll program, meaning Kent students will spend a semester or academic year at UAS Worms, and pay UAS Worms student fees.  Students do not pay tuition at UAS Worms, so Kent students only have to pay the student fees to Worms, which are around 140 euros per semester (in addition to travel and living costs).

Worms is one of the oldest cities in Germany, having been settled over 6,000 years ago.  Today, it has a population of around 80,000.

The University of Applied Sciences -Worms was founded in 1978, and has a very strong business school.

ACADEMIC OVERVIEW

Classes
Class information is posted the semester before each upcoming semester.  Please refer to past semesters if the term you are interested is not available yet.  Click on the Course Book links to view class information.  Note: the Course Books are large PDFs and have a lot of detailed information, including class syllabi.  Class listings begin around page 15, but it is recommended that you read the previous pages as they include important information and instructions about classes.

It may also be possible to participate in an internship while on this program.

Academic Calendar
Due to the scheduling of the semester, students are only able to go to UAS Worms during the Spring semester or for an entire Academic Year.

At Worms, they call the Spring semester, the "Summer semester" and they call the Fall semester, the "Winter semester."

The Spring semester goes from the end of February through mid July.
The Academic Year goes from the beginning of September through mid July.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

This program is only open to Business majors and minors who have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA.  Additionally, students must have taken classes at Kent State University for at least one semester before applying, i.e. students must have a Kent State GPA.

ACCOMMODATION

Students stay in shared flats (apartments) near the university.  UAS Worms's international office provides resources for arranged housing.  Housing on or near campus is extremely limited, so it is important that students apply as soon as possible to ensure a housing offer. Housing is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Students can either make their own meals, or eat at the university's cafeteria, called Mensa.  Meals at the cafeteria cost around 2 euros.

COSTS & TUITION

There is no tuition.  Students pay around 140 euros in student fees per semester.  Housing and living costs will vary depending on the options students choose.

Total estimated costs can be found in the Budget Sheet at the top of this page, to the lower left of the Apply Now button.
