DANKOOK UNIVERSITY | ISS ACADEMIC PROGRAM

This summer program takes you to Dankook University, a private research university in southern Seoul. The university is very focused on global education and strongly promotes international exchanges and collaborations. Dankook has two campuses: the main campus, called Jukjeon, in Yongin and the Cheonan campus in Cheonan.
Students enrolled in the program register for two summer session classes. One class is in the morning and one class in the afternoon. These classes include business, communication, art, humanities, political science, cultural studies, Korean language, and more! A finalized list of classes and syllabi are available here:

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTSFreshman - Seniors
Minimum GPA of 2.5.
Students must have taken classes at Kent State University for at least one semester before applying.
There is no language requirement (no previous knowledge of Korean required).
Valid passport. US citizens: no visa is required for this program
International students must consult the Consulate/Embassy of South Korea to determine their immigration requirements.
On-campus housing is available (dormitory style-shared double room) and housing fees are WAIVED for exchange students! Housing costs are totally free for Kent State University students for the summer.
COSTS & TUITION
Students pay for 6 credit hours of tuition (2 courses). Tuition rates are based off of Kent State's current Summer Tuition costs, and students are billed for Ohio Resident or Non-Ohio Resident rates, as applicable, in addition to medical insurance and the study abroad exchange program fee.
Students will be responsible for covering their airfare, meals, and any personal expenses.
This program automatically includes a housing scholarship that covers the cost of the dormitory fees!
