INTRODUCTION

  • Ulster University is now listed in the prestigious Times Higher Education ranking of the top 150 universities under 50 years old.
  • Ulster is a cosmopolitan university, enabling a cohort of almost 27,000 students to meet their personal and professional ambitions.
  • Students hoping to study abroad at the Ulster are able to choose between three different campus locations (Coleraine, Jordanstown, and Magee).

Coleraine is a city of 25,000 and is located about 60 miles northwest of Belfast.  Coleraine has a rich history, which includes having the earliest known Neolithic settlements in Northern Ireland, as well as links to the Celts, and to Saint Patrick.

Jordanstown is a city of under 6,000, but is part of a larger urban area called Newtownabbey, which has a population of around 60,000.  It is only about 7 miles north of Belfast.

Magee campus is located in Londonderry (also known as Derry), which has a population of around 85,000.  Derry is about 1 hour and 30 minutes northwest of Belfast, and is very close to the northern border to Ireland.

ACADEMIC OVERVIEW

Check out Ulster's classes (called modules) online.  Keep in mind, that you need to make sure the classes you select are all at the same campus.  It is not possible to take classes at multiple campuses.  Ulster provides a timetable tool to search a module to find out the day and time it is offered. A full course load at Ulster is typically three modules per semester. Students will choose 1st (level 4) or 2nd year (level 5) courses. Please note: Not all modules are available each year.

ACADEMIC CALENDAR

Students should select to attend Ulster for either a Spring semester, or an entire Academic Year. *Certain academic programs may preclude the ability to complete the exam period in-country during the Fall semester.

Academic calendar dates can be found on Ulster's website.
